Momentum Indicator

TradingView · Pine v5

Know when to go long or short.

The Momentum Indicator stacks three filters — trend, trigger, and VWAP — so you're not reacting to one noisy line. It prints clean LONG / SHORT arrows with a built-in stop and target on every signal.

Momentum Indicator long short signals on MNQ
1

Trend filter

EMA200 + EMA alignment. Longs only in uptrends, shorts only in downtrends — trade with the current, not against it.

2

Trigger

EMA20 crossing EMA50 times the entry — the moment momentum shifts in your direction.

3

VWAP confirmation

Price must be on the matching side of VWAP, so you're aligned with the session's value.

Risk built in

Every signal carries an ATR stop-loss and a reward:risk target. Management isn't an afterthought.

3 presets

Conservative, Balanced, or Aggressive — switch the whole system's character with one dropdown.

🛡

Prop-firm friendly

RTH-only and auto-flatten by 4:45 PM ET — respects funded-account rules out of the box.

Questions

Before you grab it.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You copy the script into TradingView's Pine Editor, click "Add to chart," and the signals appear. The included guide walks you through it step by step.

What markets does it work on?

Built and tuned for futures like MNQ/NQ/ES, but the logic works on any liquid market and timeframe. You can tune the EMAs, ATR risk, and session in the settings.

Can it place trades automatically?

It generates the signals and alert hooks. You can trade them manually, or wire the alerts to a broker bridge (e.g. Tradovate via PickMyTrade) for automation — the guide explains the path. Requires a TradingView Pro+ plan for webhooks.

What do I actually get?

An instant download containing the Pine v5 script and the setup & strategy guide PDF, plus free updates.
